Safe Food Exploration Should Feel Like Expansion

Trying new foods should feel like expanding the map, not being shoved off a sensory cliff.

You are allowed to:

  • inspect food first
  • smell it first
  • separate components
  • ask for sauce on the side
  • order the mild version
  • start with plain carbs
  • take one bite and stop
  • dislike something without making it a moral event
  • return to safe foods afterward

The goal is not becoming a fearless eater.

The goal is becoming a better translator of your own nervous system.

Because safe foods are not childish.

They are data.

And data can become bridges.
